Basic check over and safety service

Suitable for bikes that have hardly been used from new, or have been left in the garage since they were last serviced some years ago. Not suitable for bikes that are used regularly.

Our basic check over and safety service includes the following number of points.

Brakes - : Check that the blocks are not worn and the cables are not rusted or frayed, replace if needed, check the brake levers are secure and the brake block are aligned and that brakes function correctly.

Gears -: Check the cables are not worn or rusted or frayed replace if needed check that all the gears work and index correctly, lubricate front and rear mechs.

Wheels - : Check that the axle in the hub turns freely, adjust the bearings if it doesn't. Check the tyres are not worn or cracked replace if needed, inflate to the correct pressure.

Headset - : Check headset for slackness, tighten if necessary.

Bottom bracket - : Remove cranks and check the bottom bracket axle for tightness or slack, adjust cups and bearings if necessary, refit cranks and pedals.

Lubrication- : Lubricate the chain and sprockets.

The cost of labour for a basic check over and safety service is £29.00 which includes 17.5% VAT.

Does not include any new parts that may need to be fitted, which will be supplied at our current list price.

THIS SERVICE DOES NOT INCLUDE FOR REPLACING BROKEN SPOKES, TRUING THE WHEELS, OR RE-GREASING THE BEARINGS.

Thorough going over service.

Suitable for good quality bikes that are used regularly.

Our thorough going over service includes the following number of points.

Brakes - : Check that the blocks are not worn and the cables are not rusted or frayed, replace if needed, check the brake levers are secure and the brake block are aligned and that brakes function correctly.

Gears -: Check the cables are not worn, rusted or frayed replace if needed, check that all the gears work and index correctly, lubricate front and rear mechs.

Wheels - : Check that the axle in the hub turns freely, grease the bearings if needed and adjust. Check and replace broken spokes, true wheels if need be. Check the tyres are not worn or cracked replace if needed, inflate to the correct pressure.

Headset - : Check headset for slackness, tighten if necessary.

Bottom bracket - : Remove cranks and check the bottom bracket axle for tightness or slack, grease the bearings if need be and adjust cups, or fit a new sealed unit if necessary, refit cranks and pedals.

Chain and sprockets - : Check chain, sprockets and chainrings for wear, replace if need be and lubricate.

The cost of labour for a thorough going over service is £45.00 which includes 17.5% VAT.

Does not include any new parts that may need to be fitted, which will be supplied at our current list price.
